Allergen

Allergen and food safety notice.

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Please read this notice carefully before ordering, especially if you or anyone who may consume the order has a food allergy, intolerance or other dietary requirement.

5.1 The 14 regulated allergens

UK food-information law identifies 14 allergens that require declaration when used as ingredients: celery; cereals containing gluten; crustaceans; eggs; fish; lupin; milk; molluscs; mustard; peanuts; sesame; soybeans; sulphur dioxide and sulphites above the applicable threshold; and tree nuts.

5.2 Product-specific information

Allergen information is product-specific. We provide information using current details supplied by the manufacturer, butcher partner or supplier. A general warning about cross-contact does not replace the need to check the ingredients and allergen information for each product.

For food sold online, required allergen information will be available before the purchase is completed and will also be provided or made available when the food is delivered. For prepacked products, the physical label supplied with the product remains essential because it contains batch-specific and date information.

5.3 Prepacked grocery products

For prepacked groceries, the product page will make available the mandatory food information required for distance sales before purchase, except information that the law permits to be provided at delivery. This may include the food name, ingredients, emphasised allergens, net quantity, storage and preparation instructions, nutrition information, responsible food-business operator details and origin information where required.

Formulations and packaging can change. Always read the delivered label before consumption, even if you have purchased the product before. If the online information and delivered label differ in a way that could affect an allergy, intolerance or safety decision, do not consume the product and contact us immediately.

5.4 Fresh, butcher-prepared and non-prepacked products

For fresh, butcher-prepared or other non-prepacked products, information about any of the 14 regulated allergens used as ingredients will be available before checkout and again at delivery. Plain, unseasoned raw meat does not normally contain an added allergen, but marinades, seasonings, burgers, sausages, kofta and other prepared products may do so.

5.5 Cross-contact

Products are prepared, packed, stored or handled by different suppliers in environments where multiple foods may be present. Cross-contact may therefore be possible. We cannot guarantee that a product is free from a particular allergen unless the product is expressly described that way and the claim is supported by appropriate supplier controls.

Where a manufacturer or supplier provides a precautionary statement such as 'may contain', we will display or pass on that information where reasonably practicable. Absence of a precautionary statement is not a guarantee that cross-contact is impossible.

5.6 If you have an allergy or intolerance

  • Check the product page before ordering.
  • Check the physical packaging, ingredient list and allergen declaration before consumption.
  • Contact info@co-bridge.co.uk before ordering if information is unclear or missing.
  • Do not consume a product if you are uncertain whether it is suitable.

We cannot provide medical advice or decide whether a product is safe for a specific medical condition. Where necessary, seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

5.7 Chilled and frozen delivery

Fresh, chilled and frozen products are transported using suitable insulated containers and cooling materials where required. Raw meat is packaged and carried in a manner intended to reduce leakage and cross-contamination and to keep it appropriately separated from ready-to-eat foods.

Refrigerate or freeze products promptly after delivery and follow the label, use-by date and storage instructions. Do not consume a product if the packaging is damaged, leaking, swollen or contaminated; if a seal is unexpectedly broken; if the product appears not to have remained adequately chilled or frozen; if its use-by date has passed; or if it otherwise appears unsafe.

5.8 Safe handling and preparation

  • Wash hands, utensils and surfaces after contact with raw meat.
  • Keep raw meat separate from cooked and ready-to-eat food.
  • Cook meat thoroughly in accordance with the product instructions and recognised food-safety guidance.
  • Do not wash raw poultry, as splashing can spread bacteria.
  • Follow use-by dates. Do not rely on smell or appearance to decide whether food past its use-by date is safe.

5.9 Withdrawals and recalls

If a product supplied by us is withdrawn or recalled, we may contact affected customers using the details linked to the order. Follow all instructions, which may include not consuming the product, isolating it, disposing of it safely or returning it. Where appropriate, we will provide a refund, replacement or credit in accordance with the recall instructions and your legal rights.
