Halal certified · Hand slaughtered · Delivered to any BS postcode

Halal Bristol is a local halal meat and Middle Eastern grocery delivery service for Bristol families. This page is the plain-English overview: what we deliver, where we deliver, how ordering works, what halal actually means on our labels and how a normal week runs.

If you have already read one of the other guides on this site, some of this will overlap. That is intentional. We would rather repeat the essentials than send a first-time customer to a scavenger hunt across five pages.

What Halal Bristol is

Halal Bristol is the trading name of Co-Bridge Sustainable Solutions Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales (Companies House number 16616279). The registered office is 821 Filton Avenue, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7HH. Everything we sell is bought under that legal entity, invoiced through it and covered by UK consumer law.

We are a delivery service, not a shop. There is no physical storefront to walk into. Orders are placed through this website, prepared for your chosen delivery date and dropped at your door inside the 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm window.

We deliver two categories of product:

  1. Halal meat: curated meat boxes and individual cuts (chicken, lamb, beef, goat and steaks). Every cut is sourced from a halal-certified butcher partner. Full sourcing details are on the Halal Sourcing Statement.
  2. Middle Eastern groceries: everyday essentials Muslim families in Bristol already buy elsewhere, gathered in one basket. Cheese, olives, bread, breakfast items, spices, tea, dry goods.

Both categories ship together in a single delivery. You do not have to buy a meat box to order groceries, and you can Build Your Box pack-by-pack instead of picking a curated one.

Where in Bristol we deliver

Delivery is limited to eligible Bristol-area postcodes. You confirm your address at checkout — if the postcode is in the current service area, you can order. If it is not, we cannot deliver and no order is placed.

We publish the current service area on the Delivery Policy. The area is admin-managed and expands as we add routes, so if your postcode is close but not yet included, subscribing to the newsletter is the way to hear when it opens up.

How ordering works

The end-to-end flow is deliberately short:

  1. Choose your box or Build Your Box. Curated meat boxes are pre-priced for the whole box. Build Your Box lets you pick cuts pack-by-pack — you see the price before you add each item to the basket.
  2. Add groceries in the same basket. Meat and groceries share one basket. There is no separate grocery order.
  3. Pick a delivery date. The next seven available delivery dates are shown at checkout. A date may appear as unavailable when daily capacity is full.
  4. Checkout. Enter your delivery address, contact details and payment. Card payments run through Stripe. We do not store card details on our own servers.

The minimum order value is £45, calculated after product discounts and before delivery. Standard delivery is £4.99 for eligible orders below £65, or free automatically at £65 and above. First-order code WELCOMEHALAL gives free delivery on one qualifying order.

Same-day and scheduled delivery

The same-day order cut-off is 2pm (14:00), subject to stock and daily capacity. Orders placed before 2pm can go out that day; orders placed after 2pm go on the next available date shown at checkout.

The delivery window is 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the date you choose. Times within the window are estimates unless we confirm a narrower slot. If an event outside our control affects delivery, we contact you.

Someone should be available during the delivery window to receive chilled and frozen items. Safe-place or neighbour instructions are honoured where the location is suitable for the product. Chilled meat is not left in unsafe conditions.

Regular Orders

Regular Order is the recurring version of Buy Once. Weekly, every two weeks or monthly frequency, selected at checkout. It is not a fixed-term contract — pause, skip or cancel using your account or by contacting us, subject to the cut-off for the next delivery.

Unless the panel shows otherwise, the cut-off for changes to a Regular Order is 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. After the cut-off, payment may be authorised and the order may enter preparation, so changes may only apply to later deliveries.

At launch, we do not charge a separate Regular Order delivery fee. Any future change will be communicated in advance and will not apply to an order already charged or locked for preparation.

Full mechanics are in the Terms & Conditions.

What halal actually means on our labels

The single biggest source of confusion in UK halal is the gap between "halal" as a marketing sticker and "halal" as a verifiable certified claim. We take this seriously, so the shorthand version is:

  • Every meat product we sell is sourced from a halal-certified butcher partner. Full details are on the Halal Sourcing Statement.
  • We do not put HMC, HFA or any other named certifier logo on a product unless we have verified the current documentation. Certification can apply to a specific supplier, site or product range for a specific period — it must not be assumed to apply beyond the scope we state.
  • We do not describe meat as hand-slaughtered, non-stun or stunned unless current supplier information supports that claim. Where verified information is available, the product page states the scope.
  • For packaged groceries, any halal logo is the claim of the manufacturer shown on the packaging. Formulations and manufacturing sites can change, so always read the physical label.

If halal certification or slaughter method is material to your purchase, contact us before ordering and we will send the current information and documentation we are permitted to share.

The long version of why UK halal is a patchwork — and where our own choices sit in that patchwork — is in The complete guide to buying halal meat in Bristol and HMC certification explained.

What a week looks like

A typical week for a Bristol family ordering from us:

  • Monday to Friday, up to noon: place a same-day order for that day, or schedule for a later date.
  • Weekends: highest-volume delivery days. Book earlier in the week if you need a specific date around Ramadan or Eid.
  • Ramadan and Eid: we run seasonal bundles from a few weeks before, with reminders in the newsletter. Ramadan iftar shopping lists and Eid roast planning live in the journal.

Allergens and food safety

Every product page lists ingredients and any of the 14 regulated allergens declared by the supplier. Physical labels supplied with the product remain essential — they carry batch-specific date information the product page cannot.

Cross-contact may be possible in shared preparation environments. We cannot guarantee a product is free from a particular allergen unless the product page says so explicitly and the claim is supported by supplier controls. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, contact us before ordering. Full details are in the Allergen and Food Safety notice.

Refrigerate or freeze chilled and frozen products promptly after delivery and follow the label instructions. Do not consume a product if the packaging is damaged, the seal is broken unexpectedly or the product appears not to have remained adequately chilled.

Payments, refunds and cancellation

  • Card payments through Stripe. We do not store full card details on our servers.
  • Fresh meat, chilled and frozen food do not have the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right after delivery. Faulty, unsafe or misdescribed goods do — refunds are made to the original payment method.
  • Cancel or amend an order before it enters preparation. Once perishable goods have been prepared, cancellation cannot be guaranteed.
  • If we cannot deliver on the selected date, we contact you and offer a later date or a refund.

Full refund mechanics and the model cancellation form for eligible non-perishable goods are on the Refunds & Returns policy.

How to contact us

The fastest route is WhatsApp — we reply Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm. Email works too. Both go to a real person, not a queue.
