Is this the right box?

Who it's for

A barbecue for a family or a small group, with the planning done. There is lamb, chicken and beef in forms that go straight on the grill, so everyone has something and nothing needs a long marinade on the day.

Storing it

Keep it in the fridge until you are ready to cook, and take it out about half an hour before it goes on the grill. Keep raw and cooked meat on separate plates with separate tongs. If the weather turns, freeze it on the day of delivery and grill another weekend.

What to cook first

1Light the barbecue well ahead and cook over glowing coals, not flame.
2Burgers and merguez first: they cook quickly and keep people fed while the rest goes on.
3Chicken and lamb shish next. Turn them often, and cut into the thickest chicken piece to check it is cooked through.
4Lamb chops and the marinated wings last, over a slightly cooler part of the grill so the outside does not burn before the middle is done.
